The Audrey Santo Case

In Worcester, MA, lived a young girl named Audrey Santo. She wasn't like other children. At the age of three years, she fell into a swimming pool and nearly drowned. From that day until her death on April 14, 2007, she was in a comatose state known as akinetic mutism: unmoving, unspeaking. Whether or not she was conscious and aware of her surroundings is unknown and will probably never be known.

She was also unlike children in another way: her family claimed that she was a "victim soul," one who takes on the suffering of others, and that miracles happened all around her. Visitors to her home were supposedly cured of their medical disorders. Religious icons were said to have leaked oil. Communion wafers supposedly bled. And Audrey herself supposedly bore the Stigmata (spontaneously occuring wounds resembling those of Jesus during the crucifixion).

If any of this were true, it would be the greatest evidence for the paranormal the world has ever seen. If it's false, it would be one of the most cruel and disturbing hoaxes we've seen in modern times.

Currently, this is an ongoing investigation. I'm still gathering the data before I can write my paper on the matter.

Check this page frequently for updates on my investigation, which is already under way. You should also contact me if you have any information related to this case which may be of use to me. Any and all information will be helpful, but I'm particularly interested in the paranormal aspect of this case.

More coming soon...stay tuned...
