It's Been A Year!

Well, it's been a year since I officially launched IBWT on July 4, 2007, and despite many personal commitments and considerations, I've managed to keep the site online. Now, I have more plans in the works, to increase site contents and increase site traffic. I think we'll all have plenty of good stuff to look forward to.

It's difficult to find time to produce articles for the website these days. At the present time, I'm finishing the revisions of a book critical of Christianity, writing a book on strange beliefs and superstitions, finishing plans and conducting early research for several more books, working a "real" job, and much, much more. At the same time, I'm up to my usual tricks, reading a lot, doing magic tricks, etc. Finding time--or more precisely, making time--to work on the website is increasingly difficult.

But fear not, faithful readers (all one of you!). I will continue to promote the arts and sciences--and all sorts of good things in general--and I do have some interesting plans. I can't reveal everything I have up my sleeve, but I'll give you a few ideas of what I'm up to.

Fans of James Randi's Encyclopedia of Claims, Frauds, and Hoaxes of the Occult and Supernatural and Bob Carroll's Skeptic's Dictionary will be pleased to find another upcoming addition to their reading list, the In Bob We Trust Encyclopedia of Damned Near Everything. This will be an on-going project that will probably take a lifetime to complete. But fear not, as soon as I have a reasonably large base of entries, I'll go ahead and get it posted to the website. And of course, new entries will continue to be added somewhat regularly, as they're completed. My present goal is to have it ready and online by the end of the year. We'll see how well that goes.

In the current events department, I must admit I've been seriously lacking. So I plan to set up a blog associated with this website, featuring commentary on news and current events. Originally, I had planned to place commentary on news articles and current events as standard articles on the website. However, after a lot of thought, I decided that it simply wouldn't be feasible, considering my time limitations. Better would simply be to place all of those in a single location and, if necessary, cross-post those that will be relevant for any extended period of time.

And, of course, I need some serious promotion to build my readership. I have several ideas and plans, most of which I can't yet tell anyone about. However, I can tell you that it may involve contests and readers may find an opportunity to win great some wonderful prizes!

Stay tuned for more.

Bob
