Religious Humbug

Religious humbug can be particularly dangerous. While religious belief in and of itself may be mostly harmless, it opens the doors for all kinds of irrationality. If someone already has faith in a particular religious doctrine, it is incredibly easy for someone else to add their own humbug onto the dogma.

This religious humbug comes in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes it's just fakery. Sometimes it's scare tactics. Sometimes it's fraud. In some cases, it can cross all the lines you can possibly draw and actually cause death and suffering. While all forms of humbug must be fought, it is this last type which we must fight most passionately and without apology.
